WEFE4MED and the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) are co-organizing a regional webinar to explore sustainable pathways for desalination in the Mediterranean through a Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus approach.
The webinar is organized in the framework of the by-invitation Workshop on “Optimizing Desalination under Continental Drying Conditions,” taking place in Nicosia on 25–26 November 2025.
The webinar will introduce the workshop’s objectives, showcase examples from Tunisia, Cyprus, and Morocco, and highlight relevant policy initiatives such as the EU Water Resilience Strategy and the draft Strategy on WEFE Nexus in the Mediterranean Source-to-Sea continuum.
