WEFE4Med synergizes with the EU WES BCA Project and GWP-Med, through the GEF UNEP/MAP MedProgramme Child Project 2.2 on “Mediterranean Coastal Zones: Managing the WEFE Nexus", for the organisation of the online Regional Workshop “Advancing Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems Nexus (WEFE) with emphasis on governance, policy and institutional arrangements: Towards an Action Framework” on 19/01/2026, 09:00-14:00 CET .
The Regional Workshop will bring together the WEFE sectors from all Partner Countries and key stakeholders from across the Mediterranean.
The Regioanl Workshop builds on a pilot study carried out in Jordan, Lebanon, and Morocco, which assessed national institutional frameworks, identified governance and cross-sectoral challenges related to WEFE Nexus integration, and documented lessons learned and good practices. The outcomes of this work are consolidated in a Background Report, that will serve as the main reference for the workshop discussions.
