Descriptive Summary

Kadry Group is an agri-tech aiming to apply scientific research into agriculture industry with merging new technologies through innovative, sustainable and Eco-friendly solutions to solve problems related to food security, waste management, animal health and climate change. From this point, we created new, ecofriendly poultry feed additives from herbs wastes, it acts as feed replacement up to 3-10%  and helps to increase their growth up to 50%. in addition, elevation their immunity and decrease carbon emission in poultry farm which provides  feed loss and increase breeders's income. Our product manufactured by clean, new and promising merged technology from Nano-Tech, AI, and IoT

Background

The Mediterranean region is a climate change hotspot where food insecurity and ecosystem degradation are accelerating, challenges acutely felt in Fayoum, Egypt—historically the "governorate of poultry and chicks" and the primary supplier of poultry production to Upper Egypt. Today, Fayoum's vital role is under threat; the region faces a severe production crisis driven by soaring feed costs and the environmental stressors of the WEFE Nexus. Specifically, Egyptian poultry strains are currently suffering from near-extinction due to insufficient feed availability and the mutation of traditional breeds caused by the long-term, intensive use of chemical feed additives. This Egyptian poultry strains are the poultry assets for many MENA region countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Yemen, Tunisia, etc. Conventional poultry farming in these areas relies heavily on resource-intensive feed and chemical additives that leach into vital water systems and harm local biodiversity

This crisis has created a devastating socio-economic ripple effect: local breeders are suffering under the weight of astronomical feed prices, forcing many small-scale farmers to abandon their livelihoods and some of them closing their farms. Consequently, the market is increasingly saturated with low-quality, chemically-driven poultry, leaving citizens without access to healthy, affordable, and natural poultry products. This situation necessitates the WEFE approach, which seeks integrated strategies to optimize resource use while maintaining ecological balance.

Aims and Goals

As a Mediterranean-based startup, we recognize that the high Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) in the livestock sector related to the feed and feed additives, So we created a meged technology that manufacture AI/Nanotech based poultry feed additive  composed from herb waste  acts as feed replacement up to 3-10% that be customized for each strain to preserve the strain and give the highest FCR which helps increasing the poultry weight up to 50% and elevate their immunity in natural and eco friendly way. Through this technology, our solution introduces a natural, herb-based feed additive that optimizes bird health and resource efficiency, directly responding to the call for integrated strategies that balance socio-economic development with environmental sustainability. Our solution introduces a natural, herb-based feed additive that increases breeders' income, optimizes bird health and resource efficiency, directly responding to the call for integrated strategies that balance socio-economic development with environmental sustainability that align with WEFE4Med approach. Our project aiming to cover and achieve all the nexus pillars with different degrees.  We achieve many SDGs like G1, G2,G3 ,G12G11,G15.

1. Executive Summary: The Efficiency Gap

In the current Mediterranean poultry landscape—specifically in regions like Fayoum—feed constitutes approximately 70-80% of total production costs. Traditional Feed Conversion Ratios (FCR) are currently hampered by low-quality, chemically-laden feed and environmental heat stress. Our natural additive targets a 3% to 10% improvement in FCR, transforming biological efficiency into significant financial and social capital. In addition , our innovative product causes low carbon emission  inside the poultry farms which play a great role in climate change and global warming.

2. Micro-Economic Impact (Individual Farm Scale) (Socio-Economic Impact)

Using a baseline consumption of 3.3 kg of feed per chick over a 35-day cycle, we calculate the following potential savings:

A. Feed Reduction Metrics

FCR Improvement %: 3% (Conservative)

Feed Saved per Chick (g): 99 g

Feed Saved per 500-Bird Flock (kg): 49.5 kg

FCR Improvement %: 5% (Target)

Feed Saved per Chick (g): 165 g

Feed Saved per 500-Bird Flock (kg): 82.5 kg

FCR Improvement %: 10% (Optimal)

Feed Saved per Chick (g): 330 g

Feed Saved per 500-Bird Flock (kg): 165.0 kg

B. Financial Return for Breeders

Assuming an average feed cost of $0.50/kg (adjust based on local Fayoum market prices):

  • Small Flock (500 birds): A saving of $25 to $82.50 per cycle. For a small-scale breeder, this can cover the cost of veterinary services or energy bills, making the difference between bankruptcy and a sustainable livelihood.
  • Commercial Scale (100,000 birds): A saving of $5,000 to $16,500 per cycle. This massive reduction in overhead allows for reinvestment in modern, sustainable infrastructure.

C. Gender considerations

Giving women in Fayoum desert and in upper Egypt the opportunity to enter difficult industries like Poultry industry because it was a challenge for me to be part of this industry as a female and this is to achieve our goal in applying the gender equity goal.

3. The "Healthy Poultry" Metric: Beyond the Numbers( Environmental Impact)

While the FCR improvement handles the "Food" and "Energy" pillars of the WEFE Nexus, the biological impact addresses the "Ecosystem" and "Health" pillars:

A. Eradicating Chemical Residues

Traditional chemical additives often lead to "watery meat" and residue accumulation in the bird's tissues. Our herbal blend wastes ensures:

  • Detoxification:  through cleansing the liver and tissues.
  • Natural Growth: Birds reach market weight through biological health, not chemical stimulation, resulting in firmer, more nutritious meat for the consumer.

B. Genetic Preservation (The Fayoum Strain)

By providing a natural environment for the gut, we stop the "mutation cycle" caused by synthetic hormones. This allows indigenous Egyptian poultry strains to express their natural genetic potential, preventing the extinction of local biodiversity.

Actions taken

We made our validation phase on 11 strains of local and international poultry species. We establish our farm and factory and intended to start our huge production to be in the market soon  Also we created new merged machine to manufacture our innovative and sustainable feed additives. we hope Nexus to be partner in our critical phase .We make a lot of milestones.

In 2022, we registered our company at investment authority and manufacture our first merged tech product-pilot batch , we constructed our poultry farm raising more than 7 poultry cycle

In 2023: we started our validation of our product in many areas in Egypt in until now we reached 15 breeders with their farms and this is a good number at the beginning as not all breeders have courage to test a new product but we convinced them.

Regarding the pilots batch we make around 7 cycle in poultry raising with our product on whit poultry species called (ROS) in kum aushim center in Fayoum , then we make around 8 pilots on local strains in Fayoum in the Azab center on many poultry species like : dokki, salam, maamora, elfayomi, eldandarawy,  rodisland,  sinia, golden they gave promising results in poultry health and weights.

Then we expanded to open the market to another species for us we worked on Duck species called star 35 in nobarya in Behera governance.

Then we made small mass production in many different farms through giving samples to breeders to get different conditions with different species to make validation to our product and get customer feedback.

Then we make semi-mass production of our product. also many points of our traction will be clarified into our pitch as we are achieving many steps in our startup and all the pictures are from the ground.

In 2024: we started to manufacture our merged-Tech machine that I designed and we launched our websites and social media existence.

In 2025:  we built our small factory through buying other machines like :grinding machine and .we are the beginning phase of launch our product and we got our new office in Dokki in Egyptian ministry of communication and trying to expand more in Egypt , Saudi Arabia and AFRICA market .by 2026

We are on the threshold of completing international partnership with poultry farms in Saudi Arabia, Ghana.

we took a lot of action with UNDP and see our sustainability impact through Impact lab to see our social, economical, environmental.

Main Achievement to date

We increase the breeders's income, helping females to enter new and difficult industry, localization of new industries, created new machine with clean energy to produce feed additives production. We calculated everything related to our project and you can check all the parameters and indicators in our investment teaser.our product achieve SDGs including : G1 :No poverty ,G2:zero hunger ,G3:health and well being , G5: gender equality, G8 : decent work and economic growth , and goals as G9,G11,G15. our factory is established with new technology that helping to increase our productivity, safety manufacture and infection control

Lessons, replicability and scalability potential

Our project is totally scalable and replicable, especially we created our machine and record it in patent and also for our product we will be the first with our merged machine in Egypt and Africa. We have our own farm in Fayoum and our factory in industrial zone. I learned alot through our journey from the beginning of registration of our startup till we launch our product in the next Q1 in 2026
